Doing What You Love

Everyone deserves to take time to reevaluate. Sometimes we can be doing things and slowly develop a hollow feeling inside. What we are doing may not be what we are supposed to be doing.  Don’t worry, blogging is still on my agenda, and I am so excited to continue my traveling and trying new things as well as sharing it with all of you. I have decided on switching my major from Psychology to English in hopes to become an English teacher and maybe one day publish a book. I love the feeling of being a leader, I enjoy the idea of being a mentor, and a good influence for everyone around me. Being able to write a book one day has always been on my mind.  I also always had that gut feeling that teaching is what I need to do.

I genuinely believe professors change everything, that’s why people say  “It’s okay if you don’t know what you want to do at a young age!” I was asked if I would maybe want to do a gap year, but I said no. How am I supposed to know what I want to do if I don’t go to college and learn about what this world has to offer? Ask yourself, “How can I get involved?” If I took a gap year, I wouldn’t be able to search for what could possibly be my job match, my path. That’s the thing about life, you can’t just put it on hold and shrug every time someone asks how you see yourself in 5 years. What’s a better way than education, and putting in work to find your passion, to create new goals.

I am writing this in hopes that someone who is going through something similar to me can hear this and be reminded that no matter what you end up doing you have to understand that it takes hard work and dedication to find what you love. It is taking my entire freshman year to figure it out, for some people, it takes longer to figure it out. My English teacher told me that when she feels down or feels exhausted, she opens up a book of art to remind herself the beauty this world has, and seeing that beauty helps her get up and feel like herself again. Another teacher told me that when she was going through some hard times, she created a vision board, so when she felt discouraged, seeing the word Doctor written in big letters was all she needed to be reminded that everything is worth it and she is on the right path.

Do what you love and love what you do, happiness can be found by anyone, you just have to work hard, and remember that it takes time.

I want my blog to be a safe place where people can sit back, relax and drink a cup of coffee or a big glass of water and just focus on just one thing. When I write I feel so much, it's the only time I am able to create peace and explain myself. I want to help balance peoples lives as well as calm people down from the hectic world around them. So let this blog be a morning ritual to help create positivity and self love within yourself.

  1. So inspiring! You remind me of when I jumped off the cliff of what was safe and into the bright new world of what I loved.
